Vitalis Im is a tenor and voice teacher residing in Ann Arbor, MI.


Vitalis earned his bachelor's degree in music and anthropology from Bard College. He studied voice with Ilka LoMonaco and performance with renowned musicians including tenor Rufus Müller, cellist Luis García-Renart, and directors Nic Muni and Rod Gomez. His voice students have been accepted at the Setnor School of Music at Syracuse University, Bard College, and the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam.His previous teaching experience includes teaching opera and classical singing at the Music Institute of Sullivan and Ulster Counties in Ellenville, NY and musical theatre at the New Windsor Music Academy in New Windsor, NY. He is currently a facilitator with the Prison Creative Arts Project at the University of Michigan and has facilitated music workshops at the Saginaw Correctional Facility, Washtenaw County Youth Center, the Ypsilanti Community Center, as well as the Parnall Correctional Facility.Vitalis is a PhD candidate at the university of michigan, where he received his master's degree in social work. In addition to his work as a voice teacher, he is a practicing psychotherapist and social worker.
